If it proves impossible to resolve a case by agreement, it heads to a final hearing. The final hearing is the ‘trial’ of a case. Usually, this involves oral (spoken) evidence and detailed argument after which a judge will impose a final decision. It is rare that cases get this far without being sorted out by agreement.
